New York City Players (inc. 1999) is a theater company creating new plays about people, relationships, and above all, feeling. Under the direction of founder Richard Maxwell, our works define particularly American themes and vernaculars. We collaborate with other companies and across disciplines in a continual pursuit of new forms and ways to be together.

Currently touring THE EVENING at Festival D‘Automne in Nanterre, Theatre Garonne in Toulouse, La Filature in Mulhouse, and THE EVENING and SHOWCASE at Onassis Cultural Center in Athens.
